Over the year we have done a lot of work with clients in the services market, spanning FM, IT, BPO, Logistics, Health and Utility services. Our remit has been as broad as the range of clients, but a number of common themes were apparent, notably differentiation and bundling. Everywhere we have seen change.
Common themes: differentiation, bundling, change.
On page 2 we look at the changing dynamics of the Waste Market, which is set to double in size over the next ten years. It will require over £5bn of capital expenditure - quite a challenge. In another interesting market sector, we take a view on whether IT will be bundled with FM contracts. We think not, and we set out our reasons on page 3.
On the back page we have the results of a survey of members of the Future Group – a networking forum for fast-track senior managers. These state-of-the-union surveys are typically the prerogative of Chief Executives, so we thought it would be fun and interesting to get the views of the next generation of board members.
And finally, we have an article on Edge – our take on competitive advantage and differentiation. Edge is a key Credo theme, and of keen interest to our clients judging by the oversubscribed breakfast seminar we are running on the subject in December. The breakfast is the second in a series on Business to Business Strategic Marketing.
Enjoy the journal and have a good Christmas.
